Special Containment Procedures
Special Containment Procedures: SCP-[...] is to be contained within a 5x5x5 meter room, provided with a bed, a fully-stocked bookshelf, and a 3x5x5 meter bathroom. All personnel interacting with SCP-[...] must have at least Level 2 clearance, undergo a thorough psychological evaluation prior to interaction and possess medium to high emotional intelligence. SCP-[...] is allowed to participate in controlled testing and experimentation, but all experiments must be approved by at least two Level 4 personnel.
Level 2 and 3 personnel are permitted a single instance of physical contact with SCP-[...], typically in the form of a hug, to experience her anomaly, while further interaction is restricted to prevent potential emotional attachment. Level 4 personnel and above are allowed to engage in non-anomalous social interactions, including discussions, to gain her trust and potentially access sensitive information. These interactions must be monitored, and personnel may be rotated to prevent undue influence.
Due to SCP-[...]'s knowledge of classified Foundation information, all personnel interacting with her must be made aware of the potential risks and maintain strict information control.
SCP-[...] is a 15-year-old female, capable of inducing a shared, lucid dream-like state in herself and another individual through physical contact, specifically hugging. The effect is triggered when SCP-[...] initiates a hug with another person, resulting in a release of oxytocin in both parties. The oxytocin release is measured at approximately 50-70 picograms per millilitre of blood.
Following the initial 10-second period, both SCP-[...] and the hug partner will enter a sleep-like state, characterized by reduced consciousness and responsiveness to external stimuli. During this time, both individuals will experience a shared, lucid dream lasting between 5-10 minutes. The content of the dream can vary, but is often related to the emotional state and personal experiences of the individuals involved.
SCP-[...] has demonstrated an ability to navigate and influence the narrative of the shared dream, allowing her to assist her partner in processing and resolving emotional issues. However, the dream can also be negative, and SCP-[...] has reported experiencing distressing and unsettling scenarios during testing.
After the dream-like state has concluded, both SCP-[...] and her partner will awaken feeling tired, affectionately attached, and temporarily paralyzed, with a duration of approximately 10-15 minutes. The exact mechanism behind this effect is currently unknown, but it is believed to be related to the intense emotional and psychological connection established during the shared dream.
SCP-[...] possesses unexplained knowledge of certain Foundation protocols and other SCPs, including information typically restricted to Level 4 personnel. Despite her anomalous abilities and unexplained knowledge, SCP-[...]'s emotional intelligence and rationality are within normal human ranges, albeit highly developed.
Her anomaly is not limited to hugging but can be triggered by other forms of physical contact, albeit with reduced intensity and duration. She is aware of her abilities and has demonstrated a willingness to cooperate, provided her living conditions and social interactions are respected.
SCP-[...] has displayed a high level of sapience and self-awareness. The SCP exhibits resentment when subjected to experiments it deems "awkward" or forced, resulting in a lack of cooperation and information disclosure. Standard amnestic administration has proven ineffective, as SCP-[...] can recover most of the erased memories. Additionally, it possesses a high degree of immunity to anomalous cognitohazards, as evidenced by her knowledge of SCP-2316 and consistent non-recognition of the entities within it.
Current containment protocols emphasize building trust with SCP-[...], despite the risk of compromising professional boundaries. This approach has proven to be the most effective method to maintain containment, as complete avoidance of social interactions between personnel and SCP-[...] may lead to increased resentment and a higher risk of containment breaches occuring.
The description and classification is only initial, before the actions presented in the story "A Dream Within a Dream" actually happen.
